Overview
At Pleo, we’re revolutionising financial operations, and fraud prevention is at the core of protecting our customers. As we expand, we’re looking for a Fraud Operations Lead to build, grow, and empower our fraud team across multiple geographies.
This is a high-impact leadership role, where you’ll drive fraud operations, develop fraud analysts, and optimise processes to ensure effective fraud prevention while maintaining a great customer experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead, grow, and develop a team of four Fraud Analysts across multiple regions, ensuring they stay engaged, motivated, and continuously upskilled.
Own fraud operations, ensuring timely and accurate case handling, while optimising workflows to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Be a strategic partner to the Decision Intelligence team, providing insights to refine fraud models and proactively prevent financial crime.
Drive process improvements, scaling fraud detection and response mechanisms to match Pleo’s rapid growth.
Act as the escalation point for complex fraud cases, working closely with compliance, legal, and risk teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to influence fraud rules, system enhancements, and fraud prevention features.
Ensure regulatory compliance, keeping the fraud team aligned with evolving financial crime regulations and reimbursement schemes.
Monitor fraud trends, ensuring the team stays ahead of emerging threats in the payments and fintech space.
What You Need to Succeed
Proven leadership experience in fraud operations, risk management, or financial crime within a fintech, payments, or banking environment.
Strong people management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Expertise in fraud detection, investigations, and case handling, with an ability to navigate complex fraud scenarios.
A strategic mindset with experience in scaling fraud processes, balancing operational efficiency with fraud risk mitigation.
Familiarity with fraud detection tools such as Splunk, Taktile, or similar platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of financial regulations and fraud reimbursement schemes.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with Product, Data, and Compliance teams.
