What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Software Developer role requires the individual to be responsible for the design and development of software systems, primarily using Microsoft’s software development platforms including .NET (8, Core and Framework), SQL Server and Azure.

Working with a broad client base you will be confident interacting with varied technology across all stages of the SDLC, utilising your development expertise to focus particularly on web applications and data processing.

• Analysis, design and development of software systems. This will include liaising with external customers and working with third-party products and services to drive efficiency and innovation within the business.
• Proactivity in learning new technologies and software best practices processes aimed at providing improved software quality.
• Provide support for new and existing systems.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the businesses needs and goals in order to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Resident in the UK
• Clear and confident communication, both verbal and written
• Demonstrable experience of developing commercial systems with C# (.NET Core and .NET Framework).
• Experience of Azure DevOps – including Build and Release configuration.
• Track record delivering solutions in Microsoft technologies.
• MS SQL Server with Transact-SQL.
• Entity Framework ORM.
• Web Services - Web-API/REST, SOAP.
• SOLID practices.
• Experience of Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development.
• Source control (Git).
• DevOps Pipeline and Release processes
• Aptitude for eliciting requirements and user stories from non-development colleagues.
• Ability to retain a customer focus.
• Proactive in learning new technologies and using them effectively.
• Developer documentation writing.
