We're currently looking for a Front-End Engineer who has a curious nature and is passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals. You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.

As a Front-End Software Engineer embedded within a multifunctional team, you will collaborate with Product and Design counterparts in ideating, building and supporting the UI for Checkout.com products and services, ensuring our merchants enjoy an optimal experience across all our frontend touch points. We are looking for an engineer who is versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across Front-End. With your technical expertise, you will help define project priorities, manage deadlines, and ensure high-quality deliverables. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.

Essential Skills

An established track record of building modern single-page web applications using JavaScript frameworks such as React or NextJS
Experience in web application design and state management solutions
A willingness to learn new skills
Experience in Software Development, Design, and Architecture, with security in mind
Good practical knowledge of OOP concepts and SOLID principles
Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful design
Experience with Unit and Integration testing
Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
Strong communication skills

Qualifications

Experience with asynchronous, event-driven architecture
Database experience with NoSQL
Cloud-based application development experience
Some experience with C# is nice to have
Experience with writing automated tests from unit tests to e2e suites using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright
Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and performance issues in web applications, and knowing how to debug them
Strong customer focus, you build accessible applications with a great UX
