Senior .Net Engineer

About this role:

Just Eat Takeaway is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Loyalty domain. Loyalty teams are responsible for providing the backend services and APIs to support our membership and loyalty programme. These APIs provide functionality to both end-user applications and internal tooling.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Loyalty domain, you will play a vital role in collaborating with multiple development teams to design, implement, and maintain applications that meet business requirements.

Our team operates within the Agile - SCRUM framework, emphasizing flexibility, continuous improvement, and high-impact collaboration. We engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, which are foundational to our approach in managing projects and driving innovation.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Develop and optimise backend solutions on AWS, including deploying services on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and leveraging AWS cloud services.
• Define technical solutions through our ADR process.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Work with Docker containers for application packaging and deployment.
• Implement and maintain messaging systems using SQS/SNS.
• Design, develop, and optimise databases, including NoSQL and SQL databases, for data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What will you bring to the table?

• Proficiency in C# .NET development.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (EKS, Lambda, RDS, etc.) and Docker/containerization.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with API Gateway management (OpenAPI Specs) and messaging systems (ideally SQS/SNS).
• Knowledge of working with both NoSQL (preferably DynamoDB) and SQL databases.
• Demonstrable strong problem-solving, debugging, teamwork, and communication abilities.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, microservice/event-driven architectures, code efficiency/readability, pragmatic approaches, and commitment to test-driven development.
