The Role

As a Front-End Developer at our innovative data science start up, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our web applications. Your primary responsibility will be to implement the visual elements that users interact with, creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces for both applications and websites. Collaborating closely with designers and back-end developers, you will translate design concepts into functional web interfaces, ensuring that our digital products are not only visually appealing but also responsive and user-friendly.

You will leverage your expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to craft seamless web pages that enhance user interaction. The Day Job

• Developing User-Facing Applications: Create dynamic and engaging web applications and interfaces utilising HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring that the user experience is both intuitive and visually appealing.
• Implementing Responsive Design: Apply responsive design principles to ensure that our applications deliver a seamless user experience across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
• Collaboration with Designers and Developers: Work closely with UX/UI designers and back-end developers to translate design mock-ups and wireframes into fully functional web applications, building a collaborative environment for effective project execution.
• Optimising Performance: Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability. Monitor and analyse web system performance to ensure efficient functioning and user satisfaction.
• Writing Clean Code: Produce clean, maintainable, reusable, modular, and organised code while adhering to coding standards and best practices. Document projects thoroughly and comment on code for clarity.
• Debugging and Issue Resolution: Utilise browser developer tools and debugging techniques to identify and resolve front-end issues efficiently, ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Testing for Compatibility: Conduct thorough testing across multiple browsers and devices to identify and rectify compatibility issues, collaborating with QA and other team members to enhance product quality.
• Ensuring Security: Write secure code and maintain awareness of common web vulnerabilities and security best practices, including considerations for client-side security. Collaborate on security testing as needed.
• Consuming Backend APIs: Integrate and consume backend APIs to display data effectively and implement necessary functionality within the applications.
• Creating Functional Requirements: Assist in defining and creating functional requirements to support project development and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
