Finance Officer

Overview

Reporting to the Finance Director (until a permanent replacement for Finance Manager is in post), the Finance Officer will be an integral part of the Finance Team within the wider Meliore Global Operations team.

The Finance Officer will ensure high-quality outputs, demonstrating accuracy, rigour, nimbleness, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

How you’ll contribute

Assist in the effective management of the Finance central mailbox, responding to and escalating emails as appropriate

Responding to finance related queries from both internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a timely manner

Ensure completeness and accuracy of invoices received (legal, tax and contractual terms)

Ensuring all invoices and expenses are registered and coded correctly in the accounting system and payment of expenses, invoices and credit notes are processed in a timely, accurate and effective manner

Follow up on payments both with the payment team and recipients, providing timely and accurate information

Review expense reports in accordance with company policies and procedures

Collaborate with other finance team members to identify and resolve any issues related to payments and expenses

Provide training and support to the wider network on financial system and procedures on an on-going basis

Communicate and coordinate activities with the finance team and the wider network to facilitate the smooth running of financial operations

Assist in developing and implementing internal financial communication to improve understanding and compliance with financial processes

Managing and prioritising workload, ensuring contribution to monthly financial reporting processes is achieved, whilst supporting colleagues

Preparing year end schedules and reports for audit process

Other related tasks as indicated by your line manager or agreed as part of any structural changes within the team

Any other duties to be assigned from time to time

Our ideal candidate has

Proven experience of working in a Finance Office

A degree in finance, accounting or business administration

Studying towards a professional accounting qualification is a desirable but not a requirement

Good editing, data collection, record keeping with extensive analysis skillset

Knowledge of company policies and financial procedures

Strong attention to detail with emphasis on quality and accuracy

Strong problem-solving skills with a positive, can-do attitude

Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently, managing deadlines and prioritising between multiple tasks

Experienced with different financial systems (knowledge of NetSuite is a plus)

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, our working language; additional languages are an asset

The disposition to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global remote community of peers

The versatile and adaptable skills necessary to flourish in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment and work across time zones using tools such as Zoom, Slack and email (Google Workspace)
