CTO / Co-Founder at a Venture Studio

We are Innovation Labs Ventures, an ambitious early-stage venture studio founded by Niels Vugteveen (co-founder of Fundsup.co and Remote.io).

We're focussing on Remote.io as our first venture to scale, plus an exciting AI-driven product for recruiters, job seekers, and creators. Our goal is to create a unified platform that integrates work, commerce, and financial features.

Your role

We're looking for a Co-founder / CTO who can take full ownership of our tech stack and lead the technical development of our existing and new products. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of the company and lead additional ventures within Innovation Labs Ventures.

This is a founder-level opportunity - not freelance or side project. You'll be our main technology driver with complete ownership and direct revenue impact.

Your responsibilities:

Own the Entire Tech Stack

• Oversee infrastructure, front-end, and back-end development to ensure seamless functionality
• Manage and evolve our infrastructure, primarily built on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway)
• Work with PHP/Laravel, Vanilla JS, Next.js, Remix, Astro (stack can evolve, PHP/Laravel only needed for some existing features)
• Manage and deploy edge computing solutions such as Cloudflare Workers

Innovate and Build

• Develop innovative, scalable, high-performance solutions that align with immediate needs and long-term vision
• Create beautiful prototypes with minimal design guidance using excellent product intuition
• AI implementation expertise: LLMs, cost estimation, implementation/development of AI solutions
• Build robust CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows

Collaborate and Scale

• Work closely with leadership to recruit, mentor, and guide the development team
• Establish best practices, streamline workflows, and shape technical direction as we expand
• Develop revenue-driving features for existing products
• Ship valuable products directly with founder(s)

Your qualifications

Essential:

• Technical excellence across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
• Extensive AWS experience with deep expertise in the full stack
• Leadership experience ready to build and scale teams from concept to execution
• Entrepreneurial mindset with full-time commitment
• Problem-solving grit for hard engineering challenges
• Available immediately (not tied to full-time employment)
• Resourceful, action-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment

Bonus qualifications:

• Fundraising experience
• Experience with blockchain solutions, particularly layer 1 technologies
