We’re looking for a Front-End Software Engineer (React) to join our Ascenti Digital team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is key to the development of our new patient management platform, forming the digital backbone of our clinical and operational services.
You’ll be the technical lead on designing and building seamless user interfaces that support patient journeys across private, NHS, and occupational health pathways. Working closely with product owners, engineers, and key stakeholders, you’ll shape the future of our digital platforms, take ownership of front-end codebases, and contribute to the wider engineering strategy.
What you’ll be doing
As a Front-End Software Engineer (React), you’ll:- Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of new features and fixes.
- Build and maintain functional user interfaces that align with our brand and UX requirements.
- Take ownership of codebases, advising on architecture and driving technical direction.
- Support and mentor colleagues on best practices and development standards.
- Work closely with the Software Engineering Manager and Product Owner to align projects with strategic goals.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver enhancements to our Physio apps and digital services.
- Contribute to agile processes, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
- Assist with wider technical projects across the business as needed.
Knowledge, experience, and qualifications
- TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Front end framework, ideally React.
- Shadcn / Tailwind.
- Build tools – Vite, Webpack, NPM.
- Redux/RTK Query or other state management patterns.
- Relational and non-relational database technologies.
- Unit and integration testing.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment tools, hands-on knowledge.
- Experience with cloud technologies.
- Expert understanding of modern architectures for developing applications and websites.
- Experience translating wireframes and Figma designs into working implementations.
- A flair for UI and UX.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record delivering websites and/or Windows applications.
