Kiln is now part of the prestigious French Government program #FT120 from La French Tech!

As the first hire dedicated to legal operations at Kiln, with a clear mission: build automation, tooling, and structure to make legal processes scalable across the company.

This is a new role, ideal for someone hands-on and tech-savvy who wants to combine legal expertise with operational impact. You’ll work closely with our Head of Legal and cross-functional teams (Sales, Ops, Finance, Product, People).

Responsibilities

Create and own the legal ops function

Set up and maintain contract and process automation (e.g. Zapier, templates, macros)

Build internal tools, including a Slack bot to answer common legal & sales questions

Implement and manage Kiln’s external tools (Equity management, Contract Legal Management, Corporate Governance management)

Continuously improve and iterate on internal legal tooling

Drive operational excellence

Help structure workflows, documentation and dashboards in Notion

Support on contract templates, negotiation workflows, document versioning…

Accelerate our use of AI

Identify and deploy AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Law LLMs) to boost legal team productivity

Launch pilots such as automated regulatory watch or internal legal newsletters

Empower GTM and other teams on legal workflows

Design self-serve resources and processes to reduce legal bottlenecks and enable operational autonomy

Partner with GTM teams to scale efficiently by embedding legal know-how into tools and workflows—without needing to scale legal headcount linearly.

Stack:

Software: Go, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, REST API…

Smart-contract: Solidity, Foundry

Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes

Requirements

1+ year experience in a legal function (ideally in FinTech, SaaS or scale-ups)

Background in business, financial or banking law

Hands-on experience with contract automation (Zapier, macros, templates)

Comfort with tools like Slack, Notion, and AI assistants

Proven project management and self-organization skills

Strong interest in automation and AI (you already use it daily)

Fluent (written and spoken) in both French and English

Nice-to-have:

Prior experience in crypto / Web3 environments

Ability to write or understand simple code (e.g. for integrations)

Experience working within a certified environment (SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA…)

Genuine interest in blockchain, DeFi and smart contracts
