The Role

As a Junior Software Engineer at Xiatech, you’ll be an integral part of our Engineering team and gain hands-on experience across our innovative integration product from day one. You’ll learn the intricacies of our tech stack and work with cutting-edge technologies from AWS and Google. You will work as part of a cross-functional team and support the development of new features and functionality for the Xfuze platform. You will also receive comprehensive on-the-job training and support from experienced engineers to accelerate your career.

Key Responsibilities

Actively learn and contribute to the development of new features and functionality, working towards independent project ownership.
Collaborate with senior engineers to optimise existing platform elements, including integrations, APIs, Microservices, cloud services, and user interfaces.
Translate product Epics and Stories from Jira into actionable development tasks.
Work closely with the team to meet product development deadlines and feature release dates.
Actively participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate with delivery teams to identify and resolve development blockers.
Proactively escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution and project progression.
Participate and support the testing of newly delivered stories and ensure they deliver the required outcome.

Your Knowledge & Experience

A strong interest in software development, with some foundational knowledge (ideally in Golang or a similar modern language).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including AWS and GCP.
Foundational understanding of backend development concepts such as APIs, Microservices, Databases, etc.
Excellent communication skills, clearly articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated passion for working in a data-driven environment.
A proactive and self-motivated approach, capable of working independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
