Role Summary

As a Senior PHP Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing and building modern, intelligent platforms for our SME clients. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team delivering full-stack applications using PHP and modern frameworks like Laravel and Symfony. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle—from specification and development to testing and deployment—on projects that often integrate AI-driven tools, automation systems, and intelligent APIs.

Responsibilities

Write efficient, secure, testable, and reusable PHP code to a high standard
Build and maintain robust backend systems using Laravel, Symfony, or similar frameworks
Collaborate with other developers, designers, and product owners across the full SDLC
Lead or support the technical delivery of AI-enhanced digital platforms
Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies
Troubleshoot and maintain legacy code with a problem-solving mindset
Recommend and implement improvements in code, process, and tooling

Required Skills

Strong PHP (OOP) skills with commercial experience
Experience working with modern frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or Zend
Knowledge of MVC and other architectural patterns
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) and database design
Comfortable with Git, version control, and modern dev workflows
Experience working in fast-paced or agency environments
Solid communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

Experience with unit testing, TDD, or testing frameworks
Familiarity with Docker and containerised environments
RESTful API development and integration
WordPress experience
Exposure to automation tools, AI features, or data-driven platforms
