Software Engineer (.NET) Product & Technology
About The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will be working in one of our scrum teams, building new functionality, as well as scaling our platform to deal with our ever-increasing customer and data volumes. You’ll work alongside Product Managers, QA Engineers, and many other talented people. We ship regularly, with automated deployments at the click of a button, and when you join us, we want you to ship code to production in your first sprint. We prioritise customer success; and we’re rigorous about security at every stage of the development lifecycle. Some of our problems are unique to large software – dealing with large datasets, maintaining very high throughput, and 24/7 platform uptime. We’re adopting AI tools in our SDLC where they make sense. Sometimes with huge success, and sometimes with resounding failure - but we’re excited about the future. We use the leading cloud providers to power the Dotdigital platform and process hundreds of millions of pieces of data every day for some of the world’s largest companies, so there’s plenty to get your teeth into. For this role, we’re looking for someone who’s got strong and current C# skills, ideally with experience in web too. Managing large volumes of data is core to everything we do, so experience in working in high-performance environments will be a huge plus.

These are the essential skills we need you to bring to us
As with any large tech company, we have a lot of other things in our stack which you may encounter. The more experience you bring, the better; and of course, you’ll have an opportunity to learn when you get here. As a remote team, we value excellent communicators - both spoken and written. The better you can share your ideas, the more impact you can make.
- Solid C# .NET skills (we build with dotnet 8+, but have some 4.8 too)
- Experience with web development using Typescript/ES6, and ideally Angular
- SQL experience (you’ll most likely encounter SQL Server, and Google BigQuery; but there are other dialects across the business such as ClickHouse, MySQL, and others)
- Experience of working within a software engineering team (git, PRs, scrum, agile, etc) - ideally a remote-first team.
