We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Cloud Native Java Developer to help shape the future of a large-scale data platform. You’ll play a key role in modernising legacy Java applications while designing and building cloud-native services that support mission-critical data processing and analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Re-architect and modernise existing Java 8 applications into cloud-native microservices.
Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend services deployed in AWS ECS.
Write clean, testable, and efficient code using modern Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, and container-based development.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and DevOps-oriented practices.
Collaborate with DevOps engineers to implement best practices in CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and security.
Support infrastructure provisioning via Terraform as part of the deployment pipeline.
Contribute to documentation, design standards, and architectural guidance.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong, recent experience in Java (Java 11 or later) and Spring Boot or similar.
Experience upgrading or refactoring legacy Java 8 applications.
Solid grasp of SQL DBs, preferably MySQL or Aurora based systems.
Solid grasp of microservices architecture and RESTful API services.
Hands on experience with AWS (ideally AWS certified).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines(e.g., GitHub Actions)
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, ideally using Terraform
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

Familiarity with Kafka, SQS, SNS, or other messaging systems
Understanding of security best practices in cloud development
Exposure to serverless components (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Exposure to varying file formats and their behaviour such as parquet and delta.
Experience working in regulated data environments(e.g., GDPR).
