We are seeking a talented and versatile Front-End React Developer to join our development team. This role is crucial for delivering exceptional user experiences across our core applications and public-facing websites. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in developing React-based solutions, complemented by practical familiarity with WordPress, to effectively contribute to our website and marketing initiatives.

You will be responsible for building, optimising, and maintaining user interfaces while ensuring seamless integration with our backend APIs and adherence to best development practices.

Location: Remote First (with occasional in-person meetings in Bristol/Chepstow/HQ).

• Front-End Development: Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

• WordPress Integration: Develop custom themes, templates, and plugins within WordPress.

• API Consumption: Integrate the React frontend with RESTful APIs (including those hosted on AWS) to fetch and display critical user data (e.g., test results, historical data).

• Performance & Optimisation: Optimise application performance, focusing on fast page load times and responsive interactions across all devices and browsers.

• Code Quality: Ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to established development standards (e.g., SOLID principles).

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Design, Marketing, and Development Teams to translate UI/UX designs and content strategies into technical implementations.

• React Expertise: Proven experience building complex Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React.js and its core ecosystem (Hooks, Context API, component lifecycle, Zustand, Redux Toolkit, React-router-dom, and TanStack Router).

• WordPress Development: Strong experience in modern WordPress development, including custom post types, custom fields, and theme/plugin development.

• Headless CMS Experience: Practical experience setting up and consuming data from a headless WordPress installation (via REST or GraphQL).

• Web Fundamentals: Expert proficiency in vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 (including pre-processors or utility frameworks like Tailwind CSS/Bootstrap).

• API Interaction: Demonstrable experience consuming and interacting with RESTful APIs securely.

• DevOps Exposure: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and using Git for version control.

• Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests (e.g., Vitest, Playwright, React Testing Library).

• Experience with TypeScript in a React environment.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services.

• Prior experience working in the HealthTech or FinTech sectors.

• Experience optimising page speed and meeting accessibility standards (WCAG).

• Knowledge of JavaScript.

• Experience working on e-commerce websites.

• Basic SEO understanding.
