We're looking for a passionate Frontend Developer to join our team and help us build beautiful, performant web and mobile applications. You'll work closely with designers and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences using modern technologies. As a Frontend Developer at Merto, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing user interfaces in React, Next.js, and React Native (Expo). You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from marketing sites to complex SaaS platforms, and help shape our frontend best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications using React and Next.js (v14/15)
Build cross-platform mobile apps with React Native (Expo)
Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect UIs
Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested TypeScript code
Optimise applications for speed, accessibility, and SEO
Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend architecture decisions
Work closely with backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features
Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend trends and best practices

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

3+ years of experience building modern web applications
Expertise in React and Next.js (v14/15)
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience with React Native (Expo) for mobile development
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
Familiarity with Node.js and API integration
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code

Nice to Have

Experience with Expo EAS and app store deployment
Knowledge of SEO and web performance optimisation
Familiarity with GraphQL and REST API design
Experience with automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library)
UI animation experience (Framer Motion, Lottie)
Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
