I’m supporting a pre-seed, AI-driven startup (in stealth mode but well-funded with £1M+ raised and paying customers) who are hiring their first founding engineer.

They’re building an AI automation platform that pulls data from tools like Slack, docs, git repos, and tickets to help teams automatically identify and structure engineering work. It replaces a slow, manual, consultancy-driven process in a market worth £7B+ annually in the UK.

Work directly with the founder/CTO to:

• Build and scale complex data pipelines

• Develop ML/LLM-driven analysis and automation systems

• Architect the next generation of an AI-native product

• Own major pieces of the codebase from day one

• Shape the engineering culture and future hires

• Python

• LLMs + ML models (provider-agnostic)

• 20+ stage workflow/pipeline system (expanding)

• Heavy focus on automation, compliance, and unstructured data processing

• Solid ML/AI engineering capability (not just prompt work)

• Python first, but Node/TS or Go is helpful

• Built with LLMs before (agentic systems, RAG, model evals, etc.)

• Experience with data-heavy or workflow-based systems

• Curious, ambitious, and excited by early ownership

• £80–120K DOE

• Meaningful equity
