Software Engineer (React/React Native)

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specialising in React and React Native to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to designing and developing innovative software solutions that support our clients’ needs and align with our mission to deliver top-tier IT services.

Required skills & experience

Essential:

• 2-5 years professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years React and/or React Native experience
• TypeScript or JavaScript (ES6+)
• RESTful API integration
• Git version control
• CSS/Sass or CSS-in-JS
• Experience writing automated tests (Jest or similar)
• Understanding of responsive design
• Comfortable with npm/yarn package management

Highly desirable:

• Mobile app deployment (iOS App Store, Google Play Store)
• WebSocket/real-time features
• Mapping libraries (TomTom, Mapbox, Google Maps, or similar)
• State management libraries
• Node or backend experience
• Inertia.js experience
• Tailwind CSS

Responsibilities

Development:

• Develop new features across web and mobile applications under guidance of Senior Software Engineer
• Maintain and improve existing functionality
• Write clean, well-tested code following team standards
• Implement UI components and integrate with backend APIs
• Participate in code reviews
• Fix bugs and improve user experience

Learning and growth:

• Build deep understanding of all existing applications during handover
• Learn React Native and mobile development or vice versa
• Develop expertise in mapping and real-time features
• Grow technical skills through mentorship from Senior Engineer
• Work towards becoming Product Expert in specialised areas

Operations:

• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for system downtime events
• Respond to production issues during on-call shifts (web and mobile)
• Monitor application performance and user feedback
• Assist with app store deployments and releases

Collaboration:

• Work with Senior Software Engineer on feature planning and estimation
• Coordinate with backend team on API requirements
• Communicate progress and blockers effectively
• Support team members through knowledge sharing
• Contribute to cross-functional projects

Key Success Metrics

• Successfully learn existing applications and contribute independently within 2-3 months
• Deliver features with minimal rework and high code quality
• Maintain test coverage standards (80-100% depending on application)
• Effectively handle on-call responsibilities
• Demonstrate growth in technical capabilities
• Contribute to multiple applications and cross-functional projects
