Contract / Legal Expert

Overview

Are you a seasoned legal expert passionate about shaping commercial contracting strategy and ensuring compliance across the DE/EMEA region, specifically within a dynamic tech or engineering environment?

As our Contract / Legal Expert, you will own commercial contracting for SCG, ensuring pragmatic and compliant templates and negotiations across NL/DE. This role is pivotal in establishing robust legal frameworks and supporting our operational efficiency.

Key Outcomes & KPIs (first 12 months):

• Template Development – Complete key commercial templates (MSA, SoW, DPA, Partner, SLA) within 60–90 days.
• Process Optimization – Reduce contract cycle time by ≥20% within 6 months.
• Compliance Assurance – Ensure no material contract compliance issues are found during audits.

Responsibilities:

• Contract Management – Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts; manage redlines and develop playbooks.
• Legal Advisory – Advise on Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Intellectual Property (IP), liability, warranties, and regulatory posture.
• External Coordination – Coordinate effectively with external counsel when required.

Requirements – Must Have:

• 5+ years commercial contracting (tech/SaaS or engineering).
• Working knowledge of NL and/or DE law
• English fluency
• German fluency
• Business-enabling risk posture.

Requirements – Nice to Have:

• Privacy/cyber (GDPR, ISO 27001)
• Public procurement experience.
• Dutch language proficiency
