PHP Developer

Our staff work across all aspects of the delivery process in small, cross-functional teams creating WordPress sites and bespoke web applications. Some current projects include websites for international sporting federations, content management APIs and bespoke social networks. The role will be a blend of architecting solutions, hands-on development, code reviews, helping set standards and getting involved in writing technical documents and proposals.

What you will be doing

Our staff work across all aspects of the delivery process in small, cross-functional teams creating WordPress sites and bespoke web applications. Some current projects include websites for international sporting federations, content management APIs and bespoke social networks. The role will be a blend of architecting solutions, hands-on development, code reviews, helping set standards and getting involved in writing technical documents and proposals.

You definitely

• Have at least three years commercial experience.
• Are a smart, motivated, focused person who enjoys producing amazing software.
• Have worked with Wordpress, developing your own themes and plugins.
• Have experience of using the Symfony 2 MVC framework.
• The desire to embrace design patterns and best practices.
• Have knowledge of object oriented JavaScript.
• Have a desire to ship software and have an in depth understanding of programming as a craft. This does not mean you have to have a BSc in Computer Science, but if you do – great!
• Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to work with the team.

It’d be nice if you

• Have experience with Git, Phing, Doctrine, SASS, jQuery.
• Had the desire to embrace automated testing and continually deliver software.
• Are familiar with DevOps principles and been exposed to tools such as Jenkins and Puppet.
• Had experience using the Amazon Web Services cloud.
