We 7re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our fast-growing team. This role is open to candidates based within a commutable distance (generally within 1 2 hours) of our office hubs in London. We embrace flexibility in where and how work gets done and also value meaningful in-person moments to connect and collaborate. You can expect a remote-first working model with periodic in-person gatherings at your closest office for team connection, planning, or other key moments.
Within Tripadvisor Experiences we have a fun and friendly environment where the key objective is getting things done. Working closely alongside product managers and designers, our engineers are part of the full process from software design, to code, to test, to deployment and back again. Most of our engineers release code to production every few days and we have a daily release cycle.
What You 4ll Do
At Tripadvisor Experiences, our Engineers are versatile problem-solvers who thrive on a wide range of technical challenges. This is a full-stack role where you 7ll primarily work on backend systems, with occasional front-end projects. You don 7t need to be a front-end expert 6 if you 7re eager to learn, we 7ll support you on the job, and front-end skills won 7t be assessed during the interview process.
Our web stack includes Java, GraphQL, Kubernetes, SQL and NoSQL databases, all running on AWS. While experience with every tool isn 7t required, strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language is essential.
About You
- Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language
- Eagerness to learn and work occasionally on front-end projects (front-end skills not required for interview)
- Versatile problem-solver comfortable with a wide range of technical challenges
- Ability to work closely with product managers and designers through the full software development process from design to deployment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where code is released to production every few days with a daily release cycle
