Overview

About Us:

Monarch is a powerful, all-in-one personal finance platform designed to help make the complexity of finances feel simple again. Since launching in 2021, we’ve become the top-recommended personal finance app by users and experts. Our goal? To take the stress out of finances so our members can focus on what truly matters.

We are a team of do-ers led by experienced entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping our members reach their financial goals. We’re hyper focused on building a product people love, and on finding every edge that helps us do that better. AI is core to how we operate: every person on the team uses it as a partner to sharpen judgment, move faster, and expand what’s possible. We’re not looking for tool mastery, we’re looking for fluency and curiosity. What matters is that AI is part of how you work today and that you’re actively raising your own bar on how to use it well.

As a fully remote company (even before COVID!), we welcome applicants from almost anywhere. Our team collaborates synchronously mostly from 9 AM – 2 PM PT and embraces asynchronous work to stay connected across time zones.

Join us on our mission to transform lives by simplifying money, together.

The Role:

We’re hiring Senior, Staff and Principal Product Managers with 5+ years of PM experience with a track record of shipping products they’re proud of. You’ll own discovery, prioritization, and delivery on a high-leverage area of Monarch’s product. A PM role at Monarch requires taking end-to-end responsibility from identifying the opportunity through shipping and iterating in-market.

This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and high autonomy. You won’t be coordinating; you’ll be building.

Below, you’ll find more information about the three product areas we’re currently hiring for:

  • Aggregation: Monarch’s value starts with reliable, accurate financial data, and this PM owns the layer that makes it possible. You’ll work on bank connections, account sync, transaction normalization, and the pipelines every downstream experience depends on. When aggregation breaks, member trust breaks. This role sits at the intersection of product, data engineering, and fintech infrastructure. Strong technical fluency matters, not because you’ll write code, but because you’ll make consequential calls about data architecture, third-party provider tradeoffs, and reliability investments. Familiarity with financial data or data platform products is a meaningful advantage.

  • Core Product: This PM owns the features members use every day — budgeting, transactions, net worth, cash flow — the foundational experiences that define what Monarch is. The opportunity here is big: improve the depth and usability of core tools, close gaps with power users, and build features that make financial clarity feel effortless. You’ll need strong product instincts, a high bar for polish, and the ability to balance quick wins with long-term experience quality.

  • Growth: This PM owns the full funnel — from acquisition through activation and into long-term retention and monetization. You’ll run structured experiments, build growth loops, and identify the highest-leverage ways to bring new members to Monarch and keep them. This role requires both analytical rigor and creative instincts: you need to know how to read data, design experiments, and translate insights into product bets that compound.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own a product area end-to-end: discovery, prioritization, delivery, and iteration

  • Partner closely with engineering and design to ship high-quality experiences quickly

  • Define success metrics and use data to drive decisions and measure impact

  • Conduct user research to deeply understand member needs and pain points

  • Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage opportunities in your area

  • Communicate clearly across the company — up, down, and sideways

  • Use AI actively in your daily workflow to move faster, think sharper, and do more

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with a portfolio of shipped products you’re proud of

  • Track record of owning outcomes — not just shipping features

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision making

  • Clear, concise communicator who can align teams without hierarchy

  • Experience working in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments

  • Consumer product experience strongly preferred

  • Fluency with AI tools — not just awareness, but active daily use

  • Fintech or personal finance experience is a plus, especially for the Aggregation role

Compensation:

  • Senior: $180K – $230K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus

  • Staff: $210K – $250K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus

  • Principal: $230K – $275K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus
