Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Building, testing, and releasing product-facing features with accuracy and scalability requirements; these features could be related to market data, accounting, authentication, or security.
• Integration with accounting, banking and CRM software.
• Designing APIs and abstractions to be used in the front-end.
• Working with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into an effective technical implementation.
• Collaborating with our data team to support our user base.
• Contributing to open source projects.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in the Fintech Industry.
• Strong experience building back-end micro services and/or data platforms in python.
• Knowledge of the open-source ecosystem, frameworks, and the libraries available for common tasks in particular DynamoDB, Redis, Postgres, SQLAlchemy, mypy and Flask.
• Familiarity with continuous integration.
• A knack for benchmarking and optimisation.
• Values creating systems that are easy to use for colleagues.
• You take pride in clean, well tested and documented code.
• Intricate knowledge of Python and Java.
• Experience with deploying work in at least one cloud provider.(Preferably AWS)
• Is a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership & responsibility.
• Prior experience with data engineering and experience in Prefect, Kubernetes, SQL and GraphQL would be preferred.
