Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Platform (Core AI Automation)

📋 Description

• Architect and build Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase’s customer support and compliance
• Design APIs, orchestration layers, and measurement frameworks for scalable AI automation
• Lead distributed systems work and define architecture roadmaps with engineering leadership
• Develop reusable primitives and orchestration solutions for multi-domain AI automation
• Mentor engineers on AI system design, production-readiness, and LLM-based apps

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering with distributed systems and production AI/ML experience
• Proven track record deploying LLM-based applications, grounding, reducing hallucinations, and
• Deep API/orchestration and evaluation framework design for agentic AI at scale
• Experience in customer support automation, compliance, or financial crimes domains
• Responsible AI practices with human oversight for business-ready outputs and efficiency gains
