Software Engineer, Backend - Data Layer

📋 Description

• Backend services for Camunda 8's data layer across relational DBs and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with Product and senior teammates
• Evolve processing, retention, and exposure of process data for customers
• Improve secondary storage performance, scalability, and operability tooling
• Participate in L3 support and on-call rotations with Support and SRE

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years as a backend engineer with a focus on production data stores
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL, or Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
• Experience breaking down requirements into concrete tasks and delivering reliably
• Experience investigating slow queries, execution plans, and index usage
• Strong remote-first communication and collaboration skills
• Nice-to-have: workflow automation, CI pipelines, and schema migration tooling (Liquibase, Flyway)
