Manager, Software Engineering - AI Product

Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need 2+ years of experience managing software engineers working on products used by external users.
• We are looking for a proven track record of building AI-powered products, both as a manager and individual contributor, with best-in-class user experience.
• We need demonstrated ability to connect product and engineering work to clear business impact.
• We look for leadership experience in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team, including mentoring and growing senior engineers.
• We need strong ability to build and operate fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution.
• We value genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their application to user-facing products.
• It is a plus if you have experience building large-scale systems using React, C++, and/or Ruby.
• It is a plus if you have experience building and maintaining open source software and/or libraries for developers.
• It is a plus if you have knowledge and experience in generative AI, RAG, fine-tuning, and their application to creative products.

Responsibilities:

• We manage and support a team of product engineers focused on building and expanding our developer offerings, including Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more.
• We partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, and other functions.
• We define strategy and roadmap for our team and execute on it with a high degree of autonomy, velocity, and craftsmanship.
• We provide hands-on technical leadership to our teams and collaborators to ensure a cohesive product experience and the right technical abstractions.
• We recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers, and help with other cross-functional roles.
• We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and calculated risk-taking.
• We help build and drive inclusive and diverse initiatives through hiring, community events, and other programs in partnership with teams across our company.
