Controls Service Engineer
Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements:- A relevant qualification (e.g., Electrical/Controls Apprenticeship, HNC or Degree)
- Significant experience working with PLCs at a modification/design level
- Ability to log in remotely via VPN and navigate diagnostic pages
- Strong communication skills to gather necessary information for diagnostics
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal is desirable but not essential
- Solid client-facing and communication skills
- Self-reliant, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
- As a Controls Service Engineer, I will split my time between in-office work and on-call duties from home. My in-office responsibilities will include:
- Responding to logged tickets for minor faults
- Logging onto customer PLCs remotely for fault finding, troubleshooting, and code modifications
- Booking in visits for fault resolutions later in the week
- Attending handover meetings with Project Managers
- During my on-call duties, I will:
- Be available for client calls/emails regarding PLC-related faults
- Provide support remotely, onsite, via email, or phone to resolve issues
- Be prepared to work on an on-call rota 24/7 for two weeks each month, which may involve responding at short notice and during unsociable hours
