Controls Service Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• A relevant qualification (e.g., Electrical/Controls Apprenticeship, HNC or Degree)
• Significant experience working with PLCs at a modification/design level
• Ability to log in remotely via VPN and navigate diagnostic pages
• Strong communication skills to gather necessary information for diagnostics
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal is desirable but not essential
• Solid client-facing and communication skills
• Self-reliant, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure

Responsibilities:

• As a Controls Service Engineer, I will split my time between in-office work and on-call duties from home. My in-office responsibilities will include:
• Responding to logged tickets for minor faults
• Logging onto customer PLCs remotely for fault finding, troubleshooting, and code modifications
• Booking in visits for fault resolutions later in the week
• Attending handover meetings with Project Managers
• During my on-call duties, I will:
• Be available for client calls/emails regarding PLC-related faults
• Provide support remotely, onsite, via email, or phone to resolve issues
• Be prepared to work on an on-call rota 24/7 for two weeks each month, which may involve responding at short notice and during unsociable hours
