Job Description
The Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Sales Engineer serves as a specialized overlay technical resource responsible for helping enterprise customers modernize their cryptographic infrastructure and prepare for the transition to quantum-safe security. This individual partners with regional Sales Engineers and Account Executives to articulate the technical value of Sectigo's solutions through customer discovery, solution architecture, technical presentations, cryptographic assessments, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and hands-on implementation activities.
This senior level professional possesses exceptional technical, presentation, consulting, and communication skills, enabling strategic customers to assess their current cryptographic environments, understand modernization opportunities, and develop practical adoption strategies that align with their security, compliance, and business objectives.
This is a full-time, remote role, and we’re ideally looking for someone based in the Central United States. The target compensation range is $130,000–$180,000 USD, with an 80/20 split between base salary and commission, depending on your experience and background.
We also review compensation based on market trends, business needs, and the scope of the territory, so there may be flexibility for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to CISOs, enterprise architects, PKI administrators, security teams, and executive stakeholders, guiding customers through cryptographic modernization and quantum readiness initiatives.
- Partner with regional Sales Engineers and Account Executives to identify, develop, and support strategic opportunities involving cryptographic modernization, Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), Private PKI, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).
- Lead technical discovery engagements to assess customer cryptographic environments, certificate inventories, trust relationships, enterprise PKI architectures, and machine identities.
- Conduct cryptographic and quantum readiness assessments, helping customers identify risks, prioritize modernization efforts, and develop practical migration strategies.
- Deliver executive presentations, technical workshops, demonstrations, and architectural reviews that communicate both the immediate and long-term value of Sectigo's security solutions.
- Provide deep technical guidance during architecture reviews and solution design, ensuring deployments align with customer requirements, security best practices, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements by planning, deploying, configuring, implementing, and validating Sectigo solutions within customer environments.
- Perform hands-on implementation activities including deployment of discovery technologies, technical integrations, connector configuration, and validation as required during customer engagements.
- Bridge the gap between technology and business objectives by helping customers understand the value of cryptographic modernization, Certificate Lifecycle Management, and machine identity security.
- Assist with sales proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring technical accuracy and competitive differentiation.
- Develop and refine repeatable methodologies, assessment frameworks, technical playbooks, reference architectures, and best practices supporting Sectigo's cryptographic modernization practice.
- Contribute to the SE Readiness Program by developing subject matter expertise, sharing technical best practices, maintaining current knowledge of assigned solutions, and delivering technical enablement to the field organization.
- Work closely with Product Management and Engineering, providing field-driven feedback to influence future product capabilities, customer experience, and solution strategy.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Strategic Alliances to support solution adoption, partner enablement, and customer success.
- Represent Sectigo as a technical thought leader by participating in customer workshops, executive briefings, conferences, webinars, industry events, and technical content development.
- Work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.
- Willing to travel regionally and internationally for customer-facing activities, strategic partner engagements, conferences, and internal planning sessions.
- Participate in strategic alliance initiatives, strengthening relationships with technology partners and strategic customers.
- Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
- Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience is strongly recommended.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (considered an asset).
- Linux/Solaris/UNIX System Administration (considered an asset).
- Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certification (considered an asset).
- Security, PKI, or cryptography-related certifications(considered an asset).
Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years of industry experience, with at least 3-4 years in an enterprise pre-sales environment.
- Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Security Architect, or Professional Services Engineer supporting enterprise security, identity, or cloud solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server platforms, Linux environments, and enterprise authentication technologies.
- Extensive experience with Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), including automated certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and lifecycle automation.
- Expertise establishing and managing Private PKI environments, including Certificate Authorities (CAs), enterprise trust models, and PKI integrations.
- Deep understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, digital identity, cryptographic principles, and machine identity management.
- Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key management, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), digital signatures, and enterprise trust architectures.
- Working knowledge of cryptographic modernization, crypto-agility principles, and Post-Quantum Cryptography concepts is highly desirable.
- Experience conducting enterprise technical discovery, architecture assessments, and solution design for complex customer environments.
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, integrating, and validating enterprise security solutions.
- Strong cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud (preferred).
- Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and REST APIs (preferred).
Ability and availability to travel:
- Must be able to travel more than 35% of the time to the assigned regions and/or territories.

- Self-starter with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple strategic opportunities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated customer service, account management, and executive presentation skills.
- Experience selling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technical solutions.
- Strong multitasking, troubleshooting, and technical problem-resolution abilities.
- English language proficiency required. (Other languages are considered an asset.)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time if required.
