About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or be eligible to obtain one within six months. This role requires hands-on experience with transportation and traffic engineering projects across the state, including work with FDOT and local municipalities.  Your Responsibilities as a Transportation/Traffic Engineer: <ul> <li>Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, including technical documentation and coordination with FDOT reviewers. </li> <li>Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities and counties throughout Florida. </li> <li>Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic, including scenario development and LOS evaluation. </li> <li>Perform traffic signal design, including plans, timing sheets, and coordination plans in alignment with FDOT and local agency standards. </li> <li>Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations. </li> <li>Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies. </li> <li>Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation engineering projects. </li> </ul> What we're looking for: <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. </li> <li>Florida PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months. </li> <li>3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering. </li> <li>Valid drivers license and clean driving history.</li> <li>Sponsorship not available now or in the future. </li> <li>Proficiency in:  </li> <ul> <li>Synchro/SimTraffic </li> <li>HCS (preferred) </li> <li>MicroStation or AutoCAD (preferred) </li> </ul> <li>Experience with:  </li> <ul> <li>FDOT driveway connection permitting </li> <li>Traffic Impact Statements for local municipalities </li> <li>Traffic signal design </li> </ul> </ul>   Why You'll Love Working for Us <ul> <li>Company-subsidized medical and dental insurance.</li> <li>Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance.</li> <li>401(k) match and tuition assistance.</li> <li>Cross-training and opportunities to work on a variety of environmental projects.</li> <li>Performance-based bonuses and other incentives.</li> <li>Opportunities for continued technical and professional development.</li> <li>The opportunity to work alongside some of the best and brightest professionals in the environmental industry.</li> <li>Join a 2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations across the United States.</li> </ul> Apex Title: Engineer 2 - Project Engineer  Req ID: 12004 #LI-TB1<div class="content-conclusion">  We believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
