Senior Backend Developer

Canary is building the world’s first institutional-grade oracle solution tailored specifically for Real-World Assets (RWAs). We’re looking for a talented and experienced backend engineer with a solid computer science background, who can take the lead on our backend engineering efforts and work in a small, fast-paced team environment.

The ideal candidate:

• Is proficient in Golang and has had exposure to other programming languages as well
• Has extensive experience with Cloud Infrastructure and is able to design and maintain infra following the industry best practices
• Implement strong security across both software and infra
• Understands blockchain protocols at a basic level, such as retrieving data from blockchain nodes, decoding messages and event data
• Has a strong computer science background that helps navigate the complexity of running instances with TEE software, which requires strong understanding of operating systems, shell, remote server administration, build pipelines, networking and sockets
• Has strong coding and backend software development skills
• Has good communication skills, clear spoken English, and is comfortable with remote teams
• Good understanding of encryption principles and algorithms
• Is able to take ownership of resilience and security of our backend systems, and setting engineering standards

We work in an extremely lean fashion, with very few ceremonies but strong collaboration, in a flat hierarchical structure in which you’ll report directly to the CEO and be responsible for systems design and implementation.

Most of the work consists in building Go backends running on AWS Nitro that verifies data on-chain, computes hashes and signatures, while also ensuring that code is up to the highest standards, automation in place (test coverage, pipelines, etc), and strong monitoring and alerting.

Our current backend tech stack is Go + AWS Nitro + DataDog + Pulumi, while frontend facing apps are published on Vercel.
