Key Job Responsibilities

You will collaborate with the leadership team to influence Amazon's developer experience throughkey engineering and business decisions. This role involves building and expanding innovativedetection servicesthat span the entire software development and deployment lifecycle across the Amazon development community, including design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and operations across multiple teams, even mobile application developers. Given the foundational nature of these systems within the Amazon ecosystem, you'll also gain insight into various Amazon businesses such as e-Commerce websites, Prime, Alexa, and AWS.
Amazon is seeking acreative, customer- and detail-obsessed Software Development Engineerwith strongsoftware engineering fundamentals(object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures) and a good grasp of advanced systems concepts and design. You must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and be able to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Enjoying close collaboration with talented engineering peers is also essential.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Strong architectural and system design skills in Java.
Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and non-relational databases.
Experience with mobile application development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
