Senior Software Engineer

Hybrid working: we spend 2 days together a week, with this role based in our Manchester office.

We're hiring for an experienced, senior-level software developer. This is working in a full-stack product team, but given the work and skills in the team, this role would be suited to either a full-stack or a more backend-leaning developer.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively in full stack multi-disciplinary teams, being hands on across all stages of development.
• Develop serverless systems primarily in Typescript and interface with Java microservices.
• Own everything across the SDLC; working closely on "what" and "why" we're building, writing, testing, and deploying code.
• Engage in pairing, mobbing, TDD, automating, and releasing to production multiple times a day via highly automated build pipelines.
• Drive high levels of quality in output with automated testing (unit, integration, acceptance, E2E, performance) and practice TDD.
• Understand and apply DevOps principles, shipping and owning systems using CI/CD in cloud infrastructure.
• Work within strong agile development practices to ship and deliver value as quickly as possible.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment and enjoy pairing and mobbing.

• Experience as an experienced software developer with capability and interest to work with Typescript, Javascript, Java, AWS, and Vue.js.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, acceptance, E2E, performance) and a desire to practice TDD.
• Good understanding of SOLID design principles and commitment to producing clean code.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and experience shipping and owning systems using CI/CD in cloud infrastructure.
• Strong agile development practice and ability to deliver value quickly.
• Value working in a highly collaborative environment and enjoy pairing and mobbing.
